Special Needs Ministry for Students

Sunday Mornings @Kirk of the Hills
Sunday School classes are held at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. This gives parents the opportunity to attend a church service and/or Sunday school. At the 9:30 hour, individuals may either attend the Sunday school class or a church service with a Buddy (an adult or teenage volunteer from the Kirk).
Individuals attending Sunday school in the Special Buds classroom work one on one with a volunteer.
The students pray, have snacks, receive a Bible lesson, and work on a craft each week. The Student to Buddy ratio is one to one. The Special Buds room (Room B21) is located on the ground floor and has easy access from the southwest side. Individuals of all ages can be matched with a Bud during the Sunday morning hours.
Sunday Afternoons @Kirk Crossing
Children with special needs and their families are welcome here. If you have a child with developmental disabilities and you would like to attend the 5 p.m. worship service at Kirk Crossing, please contact Crystal Fulda. By contacting us ahead of time, we can collect information on your child so that our volunteers can best care for your child. Whether your child needs a buddy to attend the kids’ program with or a buddy to share Christ’s love with them in our Special Buds class, we will do all we can to make it a pleasant experience for both you and your child.
