What is your passion and what breaks your heart and God's heart?
I am fascinated by world cultures and the way that God is moving among different peoples around the world. In each culture one sees more of the nature of God and the fallen nature of man. He is so eager to reveal himself to those who are lost and he wants to use us to do so.
What is your favorite:
Book: Eternity in their Hearts - Don Richardson
Movies: Star Trek
Sport: Soccer
What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school was history. I have always been fascinated by history. I remember studying Ancient Mesopotamia and the Greeks and Romans in elementary school and from that point on I was hooked. I became a history major in college and loved it along with cultural anthropology, geography and other related subjects. My love for history and world cultures finds it perfect expression in my job as both a Bible teacher and mission pastor. The Lord has blessed me with the chance to do what I love.
Where are some of the places you have traveled to?
Beside Costa Rica, which has become my home in many ways, the places that have most captivated my heart are Afghanistan and Mongolia. Afghanistan is the epicenter of so much that is taking place in our world today and God is moving there to bring the light of his truth into the lives of many. Mongolia is the place that reminds me most of the Book of Acts where the church is growing in amazing ways.
How did you meet your wife?
Leda and I met while teaching at the International Christian School in San Jose, Costa Rica. Our first dates were interesting as we struggled to communicate effectively in my primitive Spanish.
Where are you from?
I am from New Jersey (You gotta problem wit dat??) I grew up just outside of Philadelphia and many of my friends were Italians from South Philly. I love the food and culture and I think that my Italian roots (my mom is Italian) helped prepare me for my life and work in Latin America.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy wood working and furniture refinishing. I love to watch movies of all kinds, especially with my wife and daughter.
