Who do you admire most?
Individuals who live with extremely difficult circumstances but continue to let their light shine through the way they trust in the Lord and love others.
What is your passion and what breaks your heart and God's heart?
I am passionate about all people feeling loved and being affirmed by others. I think it is difficult for people to feel God’s presence in their lives if they do not feel loved by anyone or if they do not feel good about themselves. I think if individuals can tap into their unique gifts and talents that the Lord has blessed them with and then use their talents to bless and serve others it will completely change their lives. There are so many needs in this world that I feel it is so important for all of us to find ways to serve others and focus less on ourselves.
What is the one thing that has challenged you lately?
The Holy Spirit!
What is your favorite vacation?
Actually I have two:
1. When all my family members are home at the same time. Now that our sons are grown it happens less and less but there is nothing better than to have my husband, all three boys, my daughter in law and granddaughter and my mom all together at the same time.
2. My mission trips to Rainbow Acres. I have gone for the last 7 years and look forward to going again in the future. Love the people I go with each year and love to reunite with the Ranchers.
What lessons in parenting have you learned?
I wish I had realized this when my kids were growing up but it really doesn’t matter how cute our kids are, or how athletic, or smart they are. It isn’t going to matter what college they go to or if they even attend. At the end of the day the only thing that is going to really matter for any of our kids and for ourselves for that matter is for them to have a relationship with the Lord that grows stronger every day.
