Kirk Pastors

Dr. Tom Gray
Tom Gray came to Kirk of the Hills in 1982, having earlier served churches in Monrovia, California and Edinburgh, Scotland. His undergraduate work was in music performance (organ and choral conducting) and he first worked as a choir director and organist. His first job as organist began at age 8. He began conducting choirs at age 15. Tom grew up in California and most of his family still lives there.
Tom attended seminary at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, in the same class as Co-pastor, Wayne Hardy. Tom’s calling to serve the Lord as a pastor was in 1973 when he lost one of his brothers. He now holds a doctorate in communications and an honorary doctorate of divinity. Tom’s favorite book in the Bible is Philippians. Tom serves as Co-Senior Pastor along with Wayne, and normally preaches in the Traditional services.
Tom is married to Chrissie, who is a professor of English at Oral Roberts University. Tom and Chrissie have been married since 1968 when they met in their church. Their daughter, Audrey, is married to Paul Stanton. Audrey recently graduated from medical school and now is an Emergency Room physician at OSU Medical Center. Their daughter, Emily, is Tom's favorite granddaughter.

Dr. Wayne Hardy
Wayne grew up in New Mexico and still visits there to see family. He attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas where he met his wife Lynette. He has a bachelor’s degree from Sterling and both a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Wayne has been a pastor at St. James Presbyterian in Littleton, Colorado and First Presbyterian in Brainerd, Minnesota. At both Colorado and Minnesota, Wayne was involved with the college and youth.
Wayne didn’t want to be a pastor, but was asked to be an intern for the youth program in Colorado. He loved it so much that he felt called to be involved with youth. Wayne’s dream was to have the largest youth program in Denver. When he left Colorado, his vision expanded to have the largest youth program in a small community.
Wayne has been a pastor at the Kirk since 1989. He has enjoyed directing the Kirk mission program. His Doctor of Ministry final paper is entitled: “Acts 1:8 in Reverse: A Strategy of Renewing the Church Through Short-term Missions.” When Wayne arrived in 1989, Kirk of the Hills wasn’t involved in missions as much as Wayne had envisioned. Since 1990, we have sent out short-term and long-term teams. Hundreds of people at the Kirk have had their lives changed in powerful ways through Christ as they have experienced other cultures.
Wayne is married to Lynette, who is a librarian at Helmerich Library. They have been married since 1979. Lynette teaches our WOW Bible study every Monday during the school year. WOW is “Women of Worth” that reaches over 250 women from around the community. Many would say that Wayne and Lynette share the same skill as passionate and gifted teachers. Their oldest son David is working in Dallas, Texas. Their younger son Jonathan has been active in the Kirk’s special needs ministry and lives in Bartlesville.
Wayne serves as Co-Senior Pastor along with Tom, and normally preaches in the Contemporary services and at Kirk Crossing.

Dr. Dan Bair
Dan Bair grew up in south New Jersey. Dan has a bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education (1988), a Masters of Divinity from Columbia Biblical Seminary, in Columbia, South Carolina (1997) and his Doctorate from Columbia International University in South Carolina (2007). Dan was called to be a missionary when he was challenged through IVCF to spend a summer in Costa Rica. Dan at that time didn’t speak Spanish at all. The Lord would provide and help him. Dan felt God’s call and worked as a teacher for a year and half teaching English. Dan has felt God’s call to missions most of his life and he exemplifies that here at the Kirk.
Dan’s favorite verse is Joshua 1:9 that helps believers know that God realizes your fears and concerns and you can accomplish anything if you trust His plan. That encompasses Dan’s vision to see people mobilize into the unreached portions of the world including from churches in the United States and Latin America.
As long-term missionaries in Costa Rica, Dan Bair and his wife Leda first became acquainted with the Kirk when they received mission teams from the church. After working in pastoral training and coordinating mission outreach for fourteen years, Dan felt called by the Lord to return to the United States to be involved in what God was doing in and through Kirk of the Hills. Currently he serves as the Pastor of missions and administration. He also enjoys the chance to teach the Bible and motivate people to get involved in world missions. Dan’s wife, Leda, is a Costa Rican and they have a daughter in high school named Gabby.
