Maturing in your faith” is very important to the Kirk and also to your life as a disciple of Jesus Christ.  There is so much to learn about our Lord and how He desires that we live our life.  One of the best ways to move along on that “journey toward discipleship” is through Adult Sunday School here at the Kirk. Staying one hour longer on Sunday morning can make a huge difference in your Christian life.  Our church has been blessed with many gifted teachers of God’s Word and experienced Christians who are ready to share the wisdom acquired on their own journey.

Summer Merge (Real World Christianity & the hub) — Fellowship Hall

Beginning Sunday, June 13th, Real World Christianity and the hub will merge together for the summer.  Join Pastor Sean Farver and Dr. Dan Bair as they lead us through 1 & 2 Thessalonians.  This class is a large lecture style class for all ages.  Fellowship Hall is located on our main level.

Real World Christianity- Fellowship Hall

This class studies the word of God together specifically looking at issues facing adults in their mid-30’s to around 50 years old. Work, family, and friendship are major areas in our life where God’s Word speaks to us.  So if you are looking for great study and friendly fellowship, this is the place to be.

the hub- Fellowship Hall

the hub, a Sunday School class for young adults in room B9 (basement under the Kirk Sanctuary).  Sean Farver will teach this class which is geared for 20-somethings.  Are you out of college?  In grad school?  Starting your career?  Getting your 'adult' life started?  Single?  Married but don't have kids yet?  Check out the hub and get connected with others who are in the same boat!  We'll study Scripture, apply it to our lives, and have lots of fun together in the process!

That Sunday School Class- B8

The class is mainly focused on married couples from their late 20's up through their 30's.  This class presents a great opportunity to connect up with other couples (many of whom also have young families, though not all) and grow as disciples. We will be studying the Book of Ruth this summer.  We will be focusing on what this story teaches us about being part of a family.  This class is taught by Andy Myers and Mark Hidlebrand.  B8 is located in the basement.

Defending Your Faith with a Biblical Worldview- B11/12

How will you tell your children and your grandchildren about what you believe and why you believe it?  How will you defend your faith to them when what they are learning outside the home is completely different than what you tell them you believe is true? How does design in the universe point to God? What about the Big Bang and Evolution?

Come join us for a discussion-oriented class that explores these issues and equips you to explain to others your beliefs and gives you a foundation to be confident that those beliefs are true. Join us for “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis.  This is a discussion based class.  In the past they have studied The Reason for God by Timothy Keller and RC Sproul’s video series.  This class is taught by Mike Gorrell.  B11/12 is located in the basement.

The Disciples- Conference Room

Are you in your 40' and 50's and want to get to know some great people at the Kirk better while learning about the bible?  come to the Disciples Sunday School Class.  Our format  is great for singles and married couples. We have a wonderful history teacher  and he is going through the bible chronologically.  We have a short review of the previous week's lesson, then the bible study.  We then break into 2 groups by gender to discuss the lesson that day.  Come join us in the Conference room at 9:30. This class features a group discussion and lesson followed by breakout sessions. The class is taught by Matt Westfall and Scott Scroggs. The conference room is located on our main level.

Lost and Found- B13

This class is a discussion-oriented class with a wide variety of ages and life experiences represented.  Participation is encouraged as we study the scriptures together. Our summer study will be the second half of Genesis.  Join Paul Goodman and Doug Scott as they lead us.  B13 is located in the basement.

In Depth Bible Study- Chapel

This class focuses on careful study of God’s word.  We explore books of the Bible verse by verse and applied to daily life.  This, the longest running Sunday School class at the Kirk, has a long heritage of serious investigation of the scriptures. We are currently studying “The Servant Ministry of Jesus,” a series of lessons from the Gospel of Mark.  This book is a crisp, fast-moving account of the life of Jesus as He preaches.  Join Peggy Alexander, John Haley and Ralph Hord as they lead us through Mark.  The Chapel is located on our main level near the offices.

Through the Bible- Library

Read through and discuss the entire Bible in a year!  This class is a survey of the Bible.  It will help Christians gain a better understanding of the nature of the word of God and how to use it to enhance their spiritual life.  Join us for our study of Bruce Wilkinson’s Secret of the Vine through June.  Beginning in July, we will begin a book on prayer called “The Prayer Cottage and the Sacred Garden” by Rocky Fleming.  Join Evan Rector as he leads this discussion.
