Meet our staff and get to know our leadership

The foundation for all Kirk leadership positions is based on upholding and pursuing the Kirk’s vision, mission and values. All leaders are called to be servant leaders, seeking to collaborate and build trusting relationships with their team members, staff and other leaders to accomplish the work of the Kirk.

Leadership Structure at the Kirk

There are four categories of elected leadership at the Kirk:

  • Twelve elders serve on the Board of Session. Their primary focus is to provide spiritual leadership, big-picture vision and direction and dedicated prayer to the ministries of the Kirk. Elders may serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.

  • Twelve deacons serve on the Board of Deacons. Their primary focus is to provide leadership, direction, administration and programmatic support for the ministries of the Kirk. Deacons are assigned to a particular ministry team and may serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.

  • Six trustees serve on the Board of Trustees, three of which are also elders. The primary focus for Trustees is to manage the financial and civil affairs of the Kirk. Trustees may serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.

  • Commissioned Lay Leaders are chosen to oversee a particular ministry. The primary focus for CLLs is to organize the work of a ministry of the Kirk. Commissioned Lay Leaders serve one-year renewable terms.
